Behaviour Support Residential Programs
Under contract with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Hollyburn Family Services provides residential care to children with special needs throughout Metro Vancouver. These programs offer a variety of services specifically designed to meet the needs of children who have been diagnosed with autism or have complex mental health needs.
- A highly intensive, multi-disciplinary treatment model including applied behavioural analysis with highly-qualified care providers. Families remain an integral part of the treatment team, with the goal of transitioning children into less intensive living environments.
Long-term homes for young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder, supported by highly-qualified care providers who create an extremely structured environment with the objective of increasing critical skills such as communication and emotional regulation as well as basic life skills.
The programs are intended to provide assessment, treatment and a comprehensive stabilization plan for long-term placement. The Special Needs Programs are committed to helping achieve stability, independence and to promote healthier functioning.

Our therapeutic approach is based on positive behaviour support strategies and relationships are based on respect, trust and collaboration.
The client's multi-disciplinary team generally includes the Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Psychiatrist, Behaviour Consultant /Clinical Manager, MCFD social worker, parent(s), Program Supervisor and other important stakeholders in the client's life. The team participates at integrated case management meetings every four to six weeks to review client successes and provide necessary guidance to overcome challenges and barriers to positive outcomes.
Referral is made through the Ministry of Children and Family Development.
