Youth Services

We're here to help

Hollyburn Family Services provides a range of services for youth under contract with the Ministry of Children and Family Development. These include staffed residential programs for youth with emotional and behavioural issues, youth transitioning to adulthood programs and parent-teen mediation.

Residential Programs

Hollyburn Family Services contracts with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), the Vancouver Aboriginal Child and Family Service Society (VACFSS) and Ayas Men Men Child and Family Services (Squamish Nation), to provide residential care, stabilization, assessment and treatment for youth aged 13-18 in the care of the MCFD or VACFSS.

Parent-Teen Mediation

Parent-Teen Mediation is a specialized counselling service designed to improve communication in families experiencing parent-teen conflict. Skilled mediators help families to develop solutions that promote healthy and realistic expectations for both parents and teenagers. Mediators meet with family members at home, in an office, or in a community location that suits the interests of all parties.

Youth In Transition

Youth in Transition services are for North Shore youth aged 15 to 18 years receiving services from the Ministry of Children and Family Development and require help in moving towards independence. This includes youth with Continuing Custody status and those receiving service through Youth Agreements.

KEY School Program

The KEY Program (Knowledge and Education for Youth) provides a school and day program to North Shore youth aged 13 to 17 years who, because of behavioural difficulties, are not enrolled or able to attend a conventional school or day program. The program is committed to developing the necessary skills for students to transition their way back into the mainstream school system, access vocational or job training programs, or to find work.
